Learning and practising Tai Chi does not happen just during class and I’m always happy to hear discussions regarding the effectiveness (and joy) of practicing Tai Chi and Qigong at home.
You can practice the Tai Chi concept of mindfulness in all sorts of situations - as you make yourself a cuppa, fill the kettle mindfully. Mindfully turn on the tap, watch the water as it flows into the kettle - and, while waiting for it to boil, practice silk reeling or sinking. Watch the steam as it rises from the spout.
Tai Chi and Qigong principles of mindfulness can become a part of every day life. With daily practice, we become less stressed, more relaxed and more flexible in our thoughts and responses. Gradually, mindfulness becomes as natural as breathing.
